The Grand Vilas Laxmi Palace, Udaipur
Laxmi Vilas Palace Hotel was built by Maharana Bhupal Singh in 1911 as a residence of Mr Winn Gate, a political agent at that time. It is located at the bank of Fateh Sagar lake enjoying the view of the lakes, Aravalli Hills and Sajjangarh Palace. Original palace was shifted to Hathi Pole and the palace was rebuilt as a royal guest house to house the dignitaries, visiting princes and British officers. In 1966 the palace was transferred to DOT and in 1969 it was handed over to ITDC, and is run under the banner of "Ashok Group of Hotels".
Accommodation comprises 16 rooms with attached bathrooms, and 8 luxurious suits. Each of the individually named guestrooms has its own character and style, with carefully selected furniture, soft furnishings and decor; though comfort is never comprised. Each room has a delightful view that can be savoured from the comfort of the jharokha (window seat). Our attractive rooftop terrace offers spectacular panoramic view through 360°. Your eye will travel over Pichola Lake towards the charming water front of the Old City with its temples & palaces; then beyond to the country side & the surrounding Aravali Hills. Dining Padmini Restaurant - Right from authentic Rajasthani cuisine to the flavors of China to a host of other exotic preparations from different parts of the world there is something to suit the taste buds of all guests. Sur Sagar - An impressive variety of cocktails and mocktails is housed in this bar that also serves mouth watering snacks.
