Bundi is a small town with rustic setting that stands on the foothills of the Aravali Mountains. Bundi is very famous for its baolis meaning waterworks or step wells, havelis, temples and chhatris with carved pillars. CLIMATE
Climate of Bundi is extreme: summers are quiet hot (April-June) and winters are cool (October-February). It experiences scant rainfall between June and August
Major Tourits Attractions: The Bundi Palace:
The marvelous structure located adjoining the Taragarh Fort atop the hill, exhibits the extraordinary craftsmanship of the place. The awe-inspiring traditional murals are characteristic of the splendor and opulence of the royal dwellers of this palace. Chitrashala is a part of the Bundi Palace and consists of an art gallery or pavilion that exhibits miniature colorful murals depicting scenes from the Ragmala and Raaslila-the story of Radha-Krishna.
Chhattar Mahal or Palace or Towers:
This palace can be reached by a steep path. The palace houses the the Naubat Khana, Hazari Pol or Gate of the thousand, the Hathi Pol with its ancient water clock and the Diwann-e- Aam.A steep, paved carraife-way is the only way to reach the monument. Of special interest in the palace is the 'Hazari Pole' or 'Gate of the thousand', the Naubat Khana, the Hathi Pole with its old water clock and the Diwaan-e-Aam.
Ratan Daulat:
This remarkable structure that comprises of a stable for nine horses and a Hatia Pol was built by Rao Raja Ratan Singh.
Built by Rao Raja Ratan Singh, it is a very interesting structure forming a stable for nine horses and a HatiaPoi. (Prior permission required for visit.)
Sukh Mahal
:
It is a luxurious summer palace surrounded by a beautiful verdant garden on the Sukh Sagar Lake.

Nawal Sagar:
Near the Bundi palace is the artificial lake of- Nawal Sagar where a shrine is dedicated to Varuna, the Aryan god of water is locate at the centre.Visible from the fort is the square artificial lake of Nawal Sagar broken up by islets, a temple dedicated to Varuna, the Aryan God of Water stands half-submerged in the centre of the lake. The reflection of the entire city and its palaces can be seen in the lake - making it a unique attraction of Bundi
Taragarh Fort :
Taragarh fort was built in 1354 and is great palace to ramble around at leisure. Set within the horse-shoe shaped fold of the hills, and with the lakes and water reservoirs below, the fort straddles the crest and offers invincible battlements that must have proved difficult to scale.
Taragarh is reached by a steep road leading up the hillside to its enormous gateway. The views over the town and surrounding countryside from the top are magical, especially at sunset. The huge reservoirs within the fort were carved out of solid rock and the Bhim Burj, the largest of the battlements, on which there is mounted a famous cannon.
84 Pillared Cenotaphs :
The stunning 84 pillared cenotaph(Chaurasi Khambhon-ki-Chatri), set among the well maintained gardens, is a treat to watch when it is lit up at night.
Phool Sagar :
To the west of Bundi is a modern palace known as the Phool Sagar Palace. There is a charming artificial tank in the gardens that is a good place for bird watching, especially from November to February.The 20th century palace, with an artificial tank and picturesque gardens. Presently, it is the residence of the former ruler (Prior permission of Secretary is required for a visit.)
Jait Sagar :
In the north of Bundi, is a picturesque lake flanked by hills and strewn with pretty lotus flowers during the monsoon and winter monthsJaita Meena established this lake among the hills. The fountain during nighttime is a virtual delight to eyes.
Rameshwaram :
The cave temple of Lord Shiva is surrounded by the Aravalli ranges. It is an idyllic picnic spot.
FESTIVALS: Kajli Teej:
The festival starts with the procession of goddess Teej in a decorated palanquin from the beautiful Naval Sagar. It passes through the main bazaars and terminates at Azad Park. The procession has decorated elephants, camels, bands, performing artists and colourfully dressed people.
Teej festival is celebrated all over the state with each region having its own unique touch. Kajli Teej of Bundi is different in several ways- while Teej is celebrated on the third day of the month of Shravana, in Bundi it is celebrated on the third day of the month of Bhadra.
